As a child, I was always painting and painting…sometimes I was writing too. While at Mason Gross my style was abstract, colorful and bright. I became a mom, and my style became more realistic. One painting would take me months to complete. Something happened when our fifth child went to school full time. I began painting portraits with palette knives. My style emerged. I was back to painting in a layered, textural, and abstract way. My knowledge of realism is important. I love mixing colors and drawing to scale. It was important to learn the way I did and I value every lesson. However, I finally found "me" in my modern portraits style. I often add quotes and lyrics to these portraits. I guess you can say the inner child in me is back because I am painting and writing again, and I am loving every minute!
